Seegapak Pvt. Limited is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems, ensuring compliance with international standards, and delivering efficient, sustainable, and coordinated MEP solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Prerequisites / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical MEP Design.
- Strong expertise in the design of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; knowledge of BIM workflows is an advantage.
- Thorough understanding of international and local standards, including ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, UPC, SBC, and other applicable codes.
- Experience in preparing design calculations, technical reports, BOQs, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Strong coordination skills with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, and BIM teams.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Accountability Areas
Mechanical System Design
- Design complete Mechanical MEP systems, including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Perform engineering calculations including cooling/heating load calculations, ventilation calculations, pipe sizing, pump head calculations, and equipment selection.
- Prepare mechanical layouts, schematics, single-line diagrams, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Develop value-engineered solutions that optimize system performance, energy efficiency, and project costs.
Engineering Documentation
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation including calculations, reports, specifications, BOQs, equipment schedules, and tender packages.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, technical submittals, and as-built documentation.
- Maintain accurate project documentation throughout all project phases.
Codes, Standards & Compliance
- Ensure all mechanical designs comply with project specifications, client requirements, and relevant international and local standards including ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, UPC, and applicable building codes.
- Perform quality reviews to ensure design accuracy, constructability, and regulatory compliance.
Coordination and Collaboration
- Coordinate mechanical designs with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and BIM teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Participate in design review meetings, technical discussions, and coordination workshops.
- Provide technical guidance to CAD Operators, BIM Modelers, and junior engineers.
Project Delivery
- Manage assigned design packages from concept through detailed design and construction support.
- Deliver engineering documents within project schedules while maintaining company quality standards.
- Support project managers during client meetings and technical presentations.
Problem Solving & Technical Excellence
- Identify design challenges and provide practical engineering solutions during design and construction stages.
- Evaluate new technologies, materials, and engineering practices to improve project outcomes.
- Stay updated with the latest MEP engineering standards, software, and industry trends.
